SPECIAL NOTICE: All need to be in the parking lot by 7:00 due to closing road and laying of the timing devices. 10K starts at 7:30 sharp and the 5K will follow at 7:45. The course will close at 9:00 to open traffic for the neighborhood. Awards will begin at 9:00. It is a 8-10 minute walk to the start line. Please allow enough time to get there. Jarrett Scott Ford and Plant City Police department will lead the run. There will be a trail car and golf cart assistance as needed.

What is the Strawberry Distance Challenge?

The Strawberry Distance Challenge is 5 kilometers long (3.1 miles), 10 kilometers (6.2), or 1 mile fun run.

Strawberry Distance Challenge is designed for fitness awareness and fundraising for charities.

Is the run timed?

Yes. The run will be chipped timed. Each person will be responsible to return the chip after the course is completed. Disposable bibs are also a possibility. In the event we use disposable bibs, we won’t ask them to be returned.

Are there awards?


Award Information

Age divisions are determined based on your age on race day. All times are based on the official net time. We won’t ship your award, so make sure you are present at the award ceremony after the run.

11 and under//12-17 // 18-24 // 25-29 // 30-34 // 35-39 // 40-44 // 45-49 // 50-54 //55-59 // 60-64 // 65-60 // 70 up

Awards will be 1st Place, 2nd Place and 3rd Place. 1st place receive a ticket to the Strawberry Festival.  3rd will not be announced.  3rd place pick up medal at awards desk.

Can I get a refund on registration?

All registrations are final.

Is there a time limit to finish the course?

No. You can walk or run.

Can we check bags?

No. It is important to lock items in the trunk of your car. Parking and start/finish line is very close.

Can I register the day of the event?

Yes. But prices are higher if you wait.

Is there a age limit?


Can someone else pick up my race packet?

Yes. As long as the person you are picking up for has a signed waiver on file. You will be asked to sign and show ID. Providing a copy of the person’s ID you are picking up is required. This could be an image off of a phone.

How many awards will be given out?

The top two of each category receive medals. On our awards page you can see all the medals and awards that will be given out.

Will there be photographers at the event?

Yes. And all pics will be posted on the SDC Facebook page.

Do spectators pay admission?

Are pets allowed?

As long as they are on a leash.

What about the weather?

Unless it is lightning, we will be good to go. Obviously, there are possible cancellations such as mandatory evacuations or acts of God which we have no control over.

Can I pick up my number and chip early?

Yes. We will have a pick-up location to be announced later. This will be on Facebook page and an email will be sent out.

What do I bring? What time should I arrive?

20 minutes is safe if you did pre-race pick-up. If registering same day, get there 45 minutes to one hour prior to race start. We will get everyone in as soon as possible.

Once you arrive on-site:

1) Proceed to the “Registration” tent.

2) Shirts, bibs, and waivers will be assigned once we have all the paperwork in place.

3) Secure your chip to your person. Chips will cost $6 if not returned.

4) Attach your bib number to your shirt with safety pins.

5) Head to “START” signs for your particular run.

6) Now go out there and have a great race!
